Causative→ Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis
Lesion is NOT neoplastic
Rhinoscleroma can occur in other parts than nose
Tongue, epiglottis, larynx & trachea
Edema in larynx
Hemorrhage & congestion in larynx
Tracheostomy

Left bronchus is narrowed by non-capsulated ill-defined infiltrative greyish yellow mass
Left lower lobe is consolidated with yellow exudate
Dull & opaque pleura
Enlarged lymph nodes with greyish yellow cut section
Septic pneumonitis & pleurisy
Metastases in right lung & lymph nodes


Types of bronchogenic carcinoma :
Small cell carcinoma
Squamous cell carcinoma
Adenocarcinoma
Large cell carcinoma
Left lung of child
Multiple suppurative foci
Hyperemic lung tissue
Dull & opaque pleura
Fibrinous pleurisy (fibrin deposit on the pleura)

Right lung
Consolidated (sharp borders → firm)
Dull & opaque pleura
Grey hepatization
Anthracosis in upper & middle lobes
Fibrinous pleurisy


Stages of this lesion :
Congestion→Red hepatization→Grey hepatization→Resolution
Lobar pneumonia (red hepatization)
Left lung
Upper lobe consolidated (sharp borders → firm) and swollen
Dull & opaque pleura
Small abscess cavity
Ghon’s focus (calcification)
Fibrinous pleurisy
